2025 Research Day
The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University School of Medicine Research Day is a showcase of research conducted by our faculty, students, researchers and clinicians. Members of the SMU community, as well as other institutions and researchers are invited to attend. Research Day 2025 will take place on Wednesday 4 June 2025. Research Day focuses on sharing our university's multidisciplinary health research outputs in order to promote the culture of research within the University.

Researchers
Faculty, students, researchers and clinicians from SMU and other institutions are invited to submit abstracts to our Scientific Committee for consideration.
Oral and Poster Presentations
The event programme will include keynote addresses, oral presentations and poster presentations from faculty, students, researchers and clinicians.
Submit for both events
Participants are allowed to submit abstracts to both the School of Medicine Research Day and the broader SMU Research Days event.
Participation
The one day Research Day event is expected to attract more than 100 students, researchers, clinicians and faculty members.
