ABSTRACT
Background
Liposarcomas (LPS) are rare, fast-growing, soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) of adipocyte cells. They are more prevalent STS subtypes, with five major subtypes, primarily affecting the elderly and showing a slight male predilection. The aetiopathogenesis of LPS has been linked to radiation treatment and familial cancer syndromes. These tumours pose significant health challenges to affected individuals, growing to large sizes and showing a high risk of metastasis, impacting quality of life. The study aimed to explore the clinicopathological characteristics of liposarcoma to outline the disease burden and characterise the clinicopathological characteristics that are critical in patient management.
