Dr. Ndlovu earned her PhD in Pharmacology from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in 2023. She also holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry (2012) from the same institution—formerly the University of Limpopo—a BTech Honours in Analytical Chemistry (2005), and a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (2002), both from Tshwane University of Technology (formerly Technikon North West).
With over 12 years of lecturing experience in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Dr. Ndlovu has successfully supervised and mentored postgraduate students at both Master’s and Honours levels. Her research spans two decades and focuses on nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems derived from renewable resources. She has published nine peer-reviewed articles in accredited scientific journals and has presented her work at international conferences.
Dr. Ndlovu has established a promising and internationally relevant research niche through collaborations with other departments at SMU. She is an active member of the departmental research and ethics committee, as well as the research presentation adjudication panel. She was previously awarded a R500,000 research and development grant in recognition of her work.
Beyond her academic responsibilities, Dr. Ndlovu is committed to mentoring SMU graduates and postgraduates by creating opportunities for exposure and engagement in pharmacology research. She also serves as a manuscript reviewer for the Undergraduate Research in Health Journal and played a key role on the organizing committee for the 57th Annual Conference of the South African Society of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (SASBCP) in 2024. She is a full member of SASBCP.
