Prof Lebogang Mokotedi is an Associate Professor in the department of Physiology at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.

She also serves as an honorary researcher in the Integrated Molecular Physiology Research Initiative Unit at the University of Witwatersrand. Her research focuses on understanding the impact of chronic inflammation on cardiometabolic function in inflammatory diseases and explores how modifiable metabolic, cardiovascular, and lifestyle factors influence cardiometabolic diseases across ethnicities and animal models.

Prof Mokotedi is the Deputy Treasurer of the African Association of Physiological Sciences (AAPS) and a council member of the Physiological Society of Southern Africa (PSSA). She chairs the Postgraduate Committee in the department of Physiology and is the Chairperson of the local organizing committee for the School of Medicine’s Research Day in 2025.
